Kickboxing for Recovery, Strength, and Explosive Energy—at LiveWell

By: Frits Volmuller

Kickboxing isn’t just a workout—it’s a smarter, safer way to move, recover, and build lasting strength. At LiveWell, kickboxing isn’t taught as a generic class—it’s woven into a fully personalized training session that adapts to your body, your needs, and your goals.

These sessions are perfect for the 30-year-old who wants to hit hard, build muscle, and improve explosiveness, just as much as they’re suitable for the 82-year-old with arthritis or spinal issues who wants better mobility and balance. We don’t run a one-size-fits-all class—we provide kickboxing with a medical flavor. That’s what makes it so special.

Kickboxing-based movement improves hip rotation, core strength, spinal function, shoulder mobility, and quad activation. Each session blends powerful rotation, footwork, and pad work to improve cardiovascular endurance and promote explosive strength—but without the strain that comes with traditional gym movements like barbell squats or long treadmill runs.

As your trainer, Frits, I’ve been teaching Dutch/European-style kickboxing for more than 25 years across the Netherlands and the Caribbean. I’ve trained clients from all walks of life—rehabbing from injuries, managing chronic conditions, or simply searching for something that finally feels good again. And they’ve found it here.

At LiveWell, we combine kickboxing elements with external resistance work—using dumbbells, cables, or bodyweight—to create a high-impact, low-risk, customized experience. Sessions are usually under an hour, but the results are long-lasting: better mobility, stronger posture, improved mood, and a body that feels alive again.

And here’s what surprises people most: 95% who try it love it. Even those who were hesitant or new to exercise often say it’s the most fun and rewarding way they’ve ever trained.

Sometimes I see people stop just as they’re hitting their stride—and that’s tough, because I see the difference: stronger spinal extensors, better hip health, improved stamina. These benefits aren’t always obvious in the first session—but they build quickly and carry forward.

If you’re ready to feel the difference, try a LiveWell session with kickboxing elements. It’s not about fighting. It’s about finding power, freedom, and health—your way.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does my back hurt more in the morning?

Morning back pain often occurs because your body has been inactive for several hours. Joint stiffness, arthritic changes, muscle tightness, reduced mobility, or underlying movement restrictions may become more noticeable after a night’s sleep.

Is morning back pain caused by my mattress?

Sometimes, but not always. While an unsupportive mattress may contribute to discomfort, recurring morning stiffness can also be related to joint function, muscle tightness, previous injuries, or how your body moves throughout the day. Even the best mattress in the world will not correct spinal problems.

Why does my back feel better after I start moving?

As you begin walking and moving, circulation increases, muscles warm up, and your joints begin moving through their normal range of motion. Inflammatory byproducts that accumulate in the non-moving joints start to diminish which often helps reduce stiffness and improve comfort.

Can Chiropractic Care help with morning back pain?

Yes. Most patients report substantial changes in their mobility in the morning and throughout the day. A Chiropractor can assess how your spine, joints, and body are moving to help identify what may be contributing to your morning stiffness and develop an individualized treatment plan.
